The big moment is finally here for one lucky finalist who made it through 1000's of other candidates to win the Captain America: Civil War Girls Reforming The Future Challenge.

Finalist Maia Dua, Grade 10, has taken home the top prize, which includes an internship at Marvel Studios. Maia's submission was a "seeing eye" robot, which is made of easily accessible materials and subsequently much more affordable than a traditional seeing-eye dog, and easier to maintain.

As part of the prize, Maia will be spending a week at Marvel Studios learning how STEM skills are used in creating some of Marvel's most famous characters. After the internship, she will join her other finalists, which include Holly Riepling, Janie Kim, Margaret Fleck, and Vivian Qiang, in participating in a special LIVE global webinar, where they will share how STEM skills have helped them in creating their inventions and executing their creative vision.
