The suave X-Man known as Gambit is now tasked with working with everyone’s favorite (but slightly crazy) mercenary Deadpool, but only time will tell if they can get through their mission without killing or backstabbing each other first.

ComicBook.com has an exclusive preview of the upcoming first issue of Deadpool VS. Gambit, which you can catch in the gallery. The all-star team-up is being written by the duo of Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, with Danilo Beyruth on art duties.
The writers spoke a bit about the book in an interview with Marvel.com shortly after it was announced, saying: “I think they’re interesting because, unlike, say, Spider-Man, the reader doesn’t know if Gambit and Deadpool are going to do the ‘right thing,’” agrees Blacker. “Their morality is muddy. They’re good guys, but only because they’re better than the bad guys.”
Suffice it to say, trust doesn’t come naturally for these two characters, and that will be a central theme for the book as Blacker goes on to say “We had to zero in on the common theme of both a Gambit/Deadpool relationship and a con story. That theme is trust. Once we figured that out—that their working relationship is about how much and how far they trust each other—the writing became a lot of fun. We could layer all of the cool con stuff on top of that.”
Deadpool VS. Gambit #1 hits comic shelves on June 22nd.
