Once you pass thirty years old, most of your birthdays feel like a copy of a copy of a copy.

That's our way of saying happy birthday to Fight Club and The Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton, who turns 47 years old today.

An accomplished and celebrated actor, Norton was the first to play Bruce Banner for Marvel Studios' Cinematic Universe (although the second to play the character within a fairly short span, since there was Ang Lee's Hulk, starring Eric Bana, just a few years before the MCU came into being). He portrayed the Hulk's alter ego in 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

Fans also know him equally well for his performance in Fight Club, playing the nameless Narrator opposite of Brad Pitt. The 1999 flop turned into a cult classic and the success of the film was in no small way responsible for driving enough interest for author Chuck Palahniuk to work with artist Cameron Stewart on a sequel, last year's Dark Horse Comics mega-event Fight Club 2.

Norton also recently starred in the Birdman, a film that made several nods to the superhero movie genre, alonside Batman star Michael Keaton and The Amazing Spider-Man's Emma Stone. His other notable works include American History X, The Italian Job, The Illusionist, and The Bourne Legacy.

He also starred in The 25th Hour, a post-9/11 drama directed by Spike Lee and based on a novel by Game of Thrones showrunner and X-Men Origins: Wolverine screenwriter David Benioff. Another unrecognized gem in his oeuvre is Death to Smoochy, his pitch-black comedy about the cutthroat world of children's television. Starring Robin Williams, Danny DeVito (who also directed) and Jon Stewart, you'd be hard-pressed to find a movie where the critical consensus that it's a disaster is more wrong.

And over the past weekend, Norton lent his voice to Sausage Party.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Norton turns 47 today. Happy Birthday, Edward Norton!
