With the passing Joan Lee, the people at Marvel Entertainment have released a video honoring the wife of the former publisher at the House of Ideas.

The video — which was supposed to be released later this year as part of a series — comes from an interview between Joan’s husband Stan and Joe Quesada, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer.
Starting the conversation off, Quesada asks Stan how the two met and the latter goes on to describe the first the two ran into each other.
“After I got out of the Army I decided I think I’d like to get married. I was tired of living with sergeants and corporals and privates, I wanted to live with a girl,” Lee reflected.
Lee shared that a friend had referred him to visit with an acquaintance at a local modeling agency.
“I went up to the modeling agency and I walked up to the desk where the greeter was and there was this vision standing at the desk who said “May I Help you?’ with a voice that was music and a figure that was indescribable and the face that you couldn’t believe,” said Lee. “I said ‘I love you,’ I really did.”
That greeter turned out to be “Joanie.” After the two went out to lunch shortly after meeting, they eventually got married and remained that way for the next 70 years.
Lee finished the interview but reiterating an iconic story with Quesada — one in which Joan essentially convinced Stan to create the Marvel Universe as we know it.
“I went home and I said to Joanie, ‘You know honey, I think I’d like to quit, I can see this job as a dead end,’” Lee told his wife. “She gave me the world’s greatest advice, she said ‘Why don’t you do one book the way you want to do it? The worst that’ll happen is he’ll fire you.’”
That book ended up being Fantastic Four #1 and the rest of the story is history.
