Thor: Ragnarok is eagerly anticipated by fandom for a variety of reasons, some of which are its inclusion of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, the debut of Hela and The Grandmaster, and the addition of fellow Asgardian Valkyrie.
Spoilers from here on out.
Still, for those who remember how Thor: The Dark World ended, there is another mystery in the mix, that being how Loki came to ascend to the throne. Of course, no one knows that, because he assumed the guise of Odin.

Now we know that Odin is still around, at least in some form, but he's not looking nearly as regal these days. A recent photo taken by photographer Glenn Hunt shows Sir Anthony Hopkins in tattered clothes on the Thor: Ragnarok set, giving the impression that Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) somehow transported him down to Earth, but it's not clear if he remembers who he is.
This will be familiar to Thor fans, who might recall that after the events of the Ragnarok series in the comics, the spirits of the Asgardians were still alive, but tied to human hosts. It was Thor who would one by one (with the aid of Heimdall) restore each one to their true Asgardian nature. All of that happened after the core Ragnarok event, but that might be the angle that the studio takes with Loki and Odin.
The Ragnarok set has seen a bevy of activity lately, and eagle-eyed fans also possibly spotted a Doctor Strange cameo, thanks to a card that Thor is holding with the Doctor's address on it. If Thor is actively trying to track down a magically cloaked Odin, Doctor Strange would definitely be the person to visit.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
