Tessa Thompson plays a warrior goddess in Thor: Ragnarok, but for Halloween, she traded in her sword for witchcraft.
The actress shared a photo of her Halloween festivities, which included her and several friends in costumes based on the cult classic The Craft. Thompson takes the role of Rochelle, rocking an outfit that is a spitting image of the film. You can see the impressive costume in the photo below.

Thompson looks amazing, but she recently revealed to the LA Times that there is one word that you don’t want to use when describing any character she plays.
“There’s one word I hate in all scripts in Hollywood at the moment in describing women, and that is the word “badass,” Thompson said “That word has just crept into every script that is pushed around this town now. It’s terrible, because it doesn’t mean anything. It’s a dumb male writer’s way of saying, ‘Ah, uh, she’s like, she, uh, she’s tough.’ Then straight after that it’s like, ‘She’s badass, but she’s got a beauty about her. And she’s sexy. Unconsciously sexy.’”
One of the reasons Wonder Woman was so successful is that it showed a female superhero as both highly capable in combat while also being vulnerable, something male roles in movies do all the time but seem to be less frequent in female roles.
“There’s an unfair position that women are sometimes put in, in the context of superhero movies and action movies where at once they have to be very strong and fierce, but also sexy,” Thompson said. “Obviously, it’s still a superhero movie and so you’ve got to figure out when you need to stand with your hands on your hips and what makes sense. But we wanted to create a character that occupied her own iconography.”
You can see Thompson take to the screen this weekend as Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3.
