Twitter Reacts to First Look at ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

Today we got our first look at the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will be one of the most ambitious X-Men films in the franchise. That first-look magazine spread included the first images of Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner as Jean Grey/Phoenix, as well as some new details about the film’s storyline and villain (Jessica Chastain).

As with any major superhero movie, there has been immediate and pronounced reaction from the fanbase – check out what they’re saying in the reactions we collected below:

As you can see above, reactions range from a earnest excitement to skeptical malaise, with a few mentions of things like the competition between big 2018 superhero movies like X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Avengers: Infinity War, or the more specific thoughts and/or hopes fans have for the film.

Skrulls being in Dark Phoenix or the movie introducing new X-Men characters seem to be the most prevalent rumors right now, while there’s been new question about major character deaths raised by the first-look feature in EW. All of this is reflected in the fan reactions above, and will continue being some of the biggest talking points about X-Men: Dark Phoenix before the film’s release next summer.
