Some of the Marvel Studios insiders have earned themselves an inside look at the upcoming Captain America: Civil War despite the public just recently getting their first look at a trailer.

One of those insiders is Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn. Gunn, unlike the public, has seen Tom Holland’s Spider-Man who will make his Marvel Cinematic debut in Civil War and said in a recent live Facebook chat, “Spider-Man does look awesome in Civil War. He really does.”
Does that necessarily mean Gunn has seen Civil War? No. He may have seen a snippet involving the web-slinger or he may have even just seen the costume while visiting Marvel Studios headquarters.
Robert Downey Jr. also talked about Spider-Man’s Civil War involvement recently. “[Don] Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this.’ We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon],” Downey said to EW. “But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Manโฆ?’ I mean it’s like wow, this thing is just crazy.”
How big is Spider-Man’s role in the super hero feud? We’ll have to wait and see.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016. James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set for release May 5, 2017.
