At Comicbook.com, we're predicting that Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 will finish in the #1 and the #2 positions at the U.S. box office for 2013. We'll leave it up to fans to debate which one will be #1 and which one will be #2. Fan reaction to both the Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 trailers has been extremely positive, so it should come as no surprise that both films have been nominated for Golden Trailer Awards. The Golden Trailer Awards celebrate the year's best movie previews. According to Evelyn Brady-Watters, "2013 was a banner year for entries. We received over 1,200 trailer submissions, which marks an 11% increase over last year. This speaks to the growing importance of the Golden Trailers for the movie marketing business." The Golden Trailer Awards include such categories as Best Summer Blockbuster, Best Comedy, Best Documentary, Best Video Game, Trashiest Trailer and the Golden Fleece Award. Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel were nominated in the Summer 2013 Blockbuster Trailer category, along with Fast & Furious 6, Pacific Rim, and World War Z. Iron Man 3 was also nominated in the Best Action Trailer category. Red 2, which is based on a comic book limited series, received a nomination in the Best Comedy trailer category. The live event will take place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA on Friday, May 3.
