Golden Globe-nominated actress Rebecca Ferguson (The White Queen) made her Hollywood debut in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 2013 fantasy-adventure film, Hercules. Her role (‘Ergenia’) in it was rather small and the film was rather forgettable. However, only a year later, the Swedish actress made a big impression on American audiences with her portrayal of Ilsa Faust — an undercover MI6 agent that infiltrated the international criminal consortium known as the Syndicate — in Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation.

“When I first saw Rebecca on tape, she was 180 degrees from what I thought I was looking for,” said director Christopher McQuarrie while promoting Rogue Nation back in 2014. “But Tom [Cruise] and I just looked at each other and said, ‘That’s her.’ Immediately we saw that she had the energy we wanted – she was independent, elegant, full of grace and maturity. We called her in to read with Tom and they instantly clicked. Everyone just stood back and watched the chemistry.”
Despite having a fear of heights and being claustrophobic, Ferguson put her fears aside so that could perform some of the hair-raising stunts — such as leaping off the roof of the Vienna Opera House — all by herself. Because she pushed passed her limits, she earned the respect of the film’s director and star.
“My character’s way of moving is more like a cat,” Ferguson said of her character, who is described as a feminine version of Ethan Hunt. “She’ll claw herself onto her victims to make these massive big guys fall.”
And yesterday, McQuarrie shared the first photo of Ferguson on the set of the upcoming Mission: Impossible 6, which went into production just a week ago. Since details on the film’s plot are still being kept under wraps, we’re not sure how Ilsa will be involved this time around. As for the photo itself, we can see Ferguson dressed to take care of business, donning a brown pinstriped suit.
