Soon to be Batman, Ben Affleck, is a well-known Red Sox fan. So much so, that he refused to wear a New York Yankees hat, the Red Sox' rival MLB team in last year's Gone Girl, which would have matched the way his character was written in Gillian Flynn's novel.

Ben Affleck turned 43 today - and the Red Sox played the Mariners. As much as this Yankees fan loves to talk about Red Sox losing streaks, you'll hear a golf clap in honor of Batman for the Red Sox emphatic 22 to 10 birthday win, snapping a 15 game streak of losing on Affleck's birthday. They were off two years in the 18 year span.

Let's take a look at this. Today, Sportscenter told me the last time the Red Sox won on Affleck's birthday was August 15, 1997.

1997.

Sports fans know how far the Red Sox as an organization have come since 1997, even breaking their infamous Curse of the Bambino three times over for a few World Series victories, but let's look at how far Ben Affleck has come over the past 18 years.

The year of the Red Sox last Affleck-birthday-win, Affleck, at 28-years-old, was releasing hard at work on Good Will Hunting, one of his most acclaimed films. He was still a year away from Armageddon and six years away from Daredevil! Of course, that does mean Gigli was around the corner.

During the Red Sox 15-game streak of losing on Affleck's birthday, the actor/director appeared in a total of 19 movies, including The Town, Pearl Harbor, and Reindeer Games and directed four features, one of which was Argo and he won an Academy Award for the directorial effort.

You can catch Affleck next in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016.
