Constantine New 52

Comic books are hitting television in a big way. After this morning's confirmation by Fox of the Gotham TV series, Deadline is now reporting that NBC has greenlighted a pilot episode for a TV series based on DC Comics character John Constantine. The Constantine TV pilot will be written/executive produced by The Mentalist executive producer Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. Goyer was a writer on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. He is also a writer on the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie. In the comic books, John Constantine is a con man, magician, and occult detective. John Constantine first appeared in The Saga Of The Swamp Thing #37 in June, 1985. Constantine was created by Alan Moore, Steve Bissette and Jamie Delano. In 2005, a Constantine movie was released starring Keanu Reeves in the title role. Guillermo del Toro has also indicated that Constantine will be in his Justice League Dark movie if it moves forward.
