This morning, USA Today announced that DC Comics will publish Convergence, a nine-week miniseries event written by TV writer Jeff King with Dan Jurgens and Scott Lobdell assisting, in April and May.
There were vague references to other creators being involved with the project, and rumors had been finding their way online (mostly via news and gossip site Bleeding Cool) for weeks, but it appears the first official details have been provided to the comics press.
The story will "[take] place outside of time and space—on the question mark, just below Earth 29 and above Chaos, on the Map of the Multiverse."
The site reports that 40 two-part miniseries will run in April and May spotlighting worlds, storylines, and characters from throughout the entire history of the DC Universe alongside a weekly 8-issue (plus a zero) main mini-series.
The story begins with Convergence #0 on April 1, written by King andJurgens with art by Ethan Van Sciver. That issue will be released on the same day that Earth 2: World's End and The New 52: Futures End, two currently-ongoing weekly event miniseries, end.
