Djimon Hounsou Cast In Tarzan

Djimon Hounsou has been cast as Chief Mbonga in the upcoming Tarzan film, according to Deadline. Hounsou can next be heard lending his voice to How To Train Your Dragon 2 and can be seen onscreen as Korath the Pursuer in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. He also has a role in next year's Fast & Furious 7.

Hounsou joins a cast that already includes Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie. The film will be directed by David Yates.

Tarzan is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic adventure stories. In it, Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.

Tarzan is schedule for theatrical release on July 1, 2016.
