Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin is working on several television projects as part of an overall deal with HBO. They've been kept under wraps, but Martin has finally shed some light on what may be the first of them.
Martin tells EW that he currently working on Captain Cosmos, a period piece about a daring sci-fi TV writer.
"At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell," Martin says of the series' pitch.
The pilot for Captain Cosmos is being written by Michael Cassutt (Z Nation). Martin wouldn't' divulge any further details, but did say that the project shouldn't take too much time away from his attempt to finish The Winds of Winter for publication in early 2016.
Game of Thrones Season 5 premiers April 12 on HBO.
