DC Comics super-villainess Tigress is coming to Gotham!

True Blood actor James Frain has been cast in Fox's Batman-less television series Gotham. He'll play the villainous Theo Galavan, who happens to be the brother of Tabitha, a character that will eventually become Tigress.

Deadline reports that the brother and sister will be formidable villains in season 2 of Gotham, filling in the gap left behind by Fish Mooney's exit.

A new Gotham arrival, Galavan is the savior the city has been waiting for — he is sexy, heroic, and lovingly devoted to his sister Tabitha (yet to be cast). But behind Galavan's altruism is a centuries-old vendetta. Galavan and Tabitha (aka Tigress) will take chaos and violence to a new level in order to bleed Gotham. Their plan will lead to the creation of new villains… and the destruction of others.

What makes this so puzzling is that there is no Tabitha or Theo Galavan in the comic books. Gotham appears to be going completely away from the source material for this introduction of Tigress. Thought to be fair, the Tigress name has been used by three characters in DC Comics, so not one character has a rightful claim to it.

Gotham returns for its second season this fall on Fox.
