Dark Horse Comics announced a new series of Legend of Korra comics today, during a panel at Comic-Con International San Diego. The series will be written by co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino and is still searching for an artist.

Details about the series are still scare, but the image used for the announcement โ€“ that of Korra and Asami walking into the spirit world – suggests it will focus on the romantic relationship between the two female characters that was canonized in the series finale.

The Legend of Korra aired for four season on Nickelodeon, as a follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The move to canonize Korra and Asami’s same sex relationship, which many read as subtext throughout the course of the series, was wildly popular amongst most Korra fans (except those who shipped MaKorra. Sorry guys).
