The second season of The CW's iZombie will pick up a few months after the Season One finale, actor David Anders said today at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

So what does that mean for Liv and company? We won't be picking up just moments after Season One's heartbreaking ending, and the ramifications of her decisions in the final moments of that episode will reverberate but not necessarily be the series' primary focus.

What's next, instead, is something much bigger, with a scope that goes beyond just Seattle and starts dealing with the kinds of conspiracy theories and corporate intrigue that was teased but not much used during the first season.

"We kind of say what the big storyline of Season Two will be in the finale of Season One," Thomas told ComicBook.com. "There's a moment with Vaughn Du Clark, the head of Max Rager, says to his right-hand scientist, 'You worry about creating Super Max, I'm going to eliminate all of the Seattle zombies.' If zombies were the aggressors in Season One, they're put a little bit more on the defensive side and it will make very strange bedfellows of Liv and Blaine in Season Two. Getting those two in scenes together, which was tough in Season One, will be much easier in Season Two."

That means more Steven Weber, more David Anders and, probably, more Robert Buckley. Which seems like a lot of fun for viewers but a lot of aggravation for Liv.

iZombie is expected to debut its second season in January 2016.
