is riding high on early reviews from critics. The film is currenly sitting on a 97% positive tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 91% positive rating from audience members. Here's the Rotten Tomatoes consensus for The LEGO Movie:

Boasting beautiful animation, a charming voice cast, laugh-a-minute gags, and a surprisingly thoughtful story, The Lego Movie is colorful fun for all ages.

Pretty glowing so far. Projections for The Lego Movie's opening weekend box office take have been positive enough that Warner Bros. has already put a sequel into production. The LEGO Movie is the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO adventure. The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet an ordinary, rules- following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. The LEGO Movee stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Farrell and Morgan Freeman, with a sizable list of character and actor cameos as well. The LEGO Movie is now in theaters.
