Ahead of Sunday night's penultimate episode of The Walking Dead's sixth season, the title and synopsis of the finale episode have been released.

The final episode of The Walking Dead's sixth season is titled, "Last Day on Earth." The official synopsis reads, "To save one of their own, Rick's group must venture outside the walls; their experience changes their lives forever."

We were expecting things to be brutal in the finale episode but with a title like "Last Day on Earth," it's clear that the extended episode is not to be taken lightly. Negan will be making his first appearance at some point during the episode and it is certainly going to rock our and the characters' worlds.

Based on the synopsis, it's safe to assume that one or a couple of Alexandrians have been taken hostage by the Saviors. The likely bet would be Carol is a hostage, considering she is outside of the Safe-Zone on her own, but in Sunday's episode several characters pursue her.

Most fans have been expecting the season to conclude with a main character's death at the hands (or bat) of Negan so most haven't stopped to think that more than one character can be lost.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
