When speaking with NBC New York, Tilly explained the notoriety that comes with starring in four Child’s Play films. “I’ve done so many movies and everywhere I go, people know me as Tiffany from Chucky.” She joked about how the homicidal regular gets killed in these sequels yet somehow finds a way to come back to life. Tilly’s explained, “I say the only thing that can kill Chucky is bad box office.”

The actress didn’t reveal too much of what will happen in the upcoming film, but confirmed, “I think it’s really gonna surprise and excite the Chucky fans.”

Tilly also mentioned that, despite starring in so many Child’s Play films, she hasn’t always been a fan of horror movies. “Before I met [writer/director] Don [Mancini], I wasn’t really into horror films. I had never seen a Chucky movie. But now I really love them, there’s a lot of work that goes into making a great horror film.”

The film’s synopsis is as follows:

“Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions โ€” an all-too-familiar ‘Good Guy’ doll with an innocently smiling face โ€” a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all.

Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now grown-up nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her, he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.”
