LOST was wrapped up pretty tightly when it went off the air in 2010.

Still, the show left enough open-ended story for us to go back to the island if ABC ever decided they wanted more of the series. Characters like James “Sawyer” Ford, Kate Austen, Miles Strom, Frank Lapidus, Richard Alpert and Claire Littleton ended the show by flying off of the island. Hugo “Hurley” Reyes and Benjamin Linus stayed behind to protect the island, starting with looking after Desmond Hume.
Then, there’s Walt.
Walt was said to be “special” from early episodes of the show but ended up being written out when Malcolm David Kelley started to grow up a little too fast. He did, however, make a brief return in Season 4 before being drawn back into the possible post-show storylines in a DVD bonus feature. Hurley and Ben recruited Walt for a position similar to Richard’s in a scene many fans are still unaware of.
Speaking to LOST‘s exeuctive producer Carlton Cuse ahead his current series Colony‘s return, ComicBook.com learned that the show’s former EP believes LOST will return somewhere down the line, with or without him.
“I do believe at some future point, someone else will do something in the LOST world and that’s okay,” Cuse said. “There probably are some young wonderful writers out there. Maybe Damion Chizell would like to do a musical in the world of LOST, I don’t know. He’s free to do it.”
Immediately, the wheels began to turn among fans of the ABC series, so ComicBook.com reached out to Walt actor Malcolm David Kelley on Twitter to see if he would be game for a return.
The actor has turned to music in the years since LOST has gone off the air, with a new album coming from his MKTO duo later this year. Still, he thinks LOST “was a classic.” While he doesn’t see the show being restarted in remake form, he would be up for a movie.
@ComicBookNOW Nothing but fire #mkto and yeah I think it was a classic. I’m not to shire about a remake but maybe a movie

Kelley is not the only LOST alum to express interest in reprising their role.
At a recent Walker Stalker Convention in Atlanta, Emerson said he believed there was plenty of story left to tell involving his and Garcia’s character after choosing to remain on the island before the show concluded.

LOST ran for six seasons, concluding its over-115 episode run in 2010 with a finale which left fans divded on how to interpret it. By now though, the argument that they were all dead, should be long dead.
