One is the breakout star of the hit AMC show The Walking Dead, and the other is a comic book legend, but both are taking the blame for some recent traffic problems in Michigan. All by their lonesome, either Norman Reedus or Stan Lee is known to draw a crowd, but if you put the two together, then let's just say odd are that you're going to need a bigger boat. That's what the organizers of the Motor City Comic Con appear to have learned this weekend. In its 24th year of operation, the Motor City Comic Con is making headlines for drawing a crowd so large that it snarled traffic in Novi, Michigan. According to numerous reports on Saturday, traffic was backed up for miles leading up to the Suburban Collection Showplace, where the convention was held. In addition to a traffic wait of a couple hours, attendees that did manage to find a place to park were greeted with reportedly another one to four hour wait to get in. According to the Detroit Free Press, Motor City Comic Con founder Michael Goldman said, "Stan Lee and Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead are rock stars. People are still really excited about them being here. And because of guys like those, whose movies and TV shows are more popular than ever, we're growing, too." In general, Comic Cons are seeing rapid growth across the United States with conventions in New York and California attracting over 100K attendees. While attendee numbers aren't in yet for the Motor City Comic Con, estimates are indicating the convention will have its largest year ever with over 30,000 attendees.
