The first spokeless bicycle is finally here, and it just so happens to take more than a few cues from Disney’s fan-favorite series Tron.
The Cyclotron Bike is described as a Smart Cycle, in that it includes an electric shift box that can switch in a swift 0.2 seconds, as well as an automatic light sensor that toggles the Dual Halo LED Wheels and Bike Laser Lane Projector according to the current outside light. It also features a self-charging battery pack inside the seat post, and its integrated Cyclo-App warns you when the battery is low.

That app is also good for perusing cycling data and navigation and includes an Autonomous accident and emergency reporting service and GPS Bike Finder (in case it gets stolen).
The spokeless design is more than just visually appealing, as riders can fit a number of accessories in the space such as the Polygon or Butterfly basket or The Wingman. The baskets fold out when you need them so you can store groceries and other items, while The Wingman adds a child seat to either the left or right side. You can even add two if the need arises.
In addition to all the features, the thing just looks like a Tron Lightbike, minus all the racing to the death stuff. The Cyclotron took 3 years of research and testing before the product was ready to Kickstart, but the team has pulled in over $133,000, well above their $56,288 goal. Don’t be surprised if you see a few Cyclotrons in your neighborhood in the coming years.
