The Walking Dead's Shane Returns to TV; New Photos From LA Noir

Filmmaker Frank Darabont, who developed Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead for television, and actor Jon Bernthal, who played Shane in the hit AMC series, will reunite for the period police drama LA Noir, which TNT just picked up for an initial six-episode order. Along with yesterday's announcement to that effect, TNT released a pair of promotional images for the series. The one-hour drama, which also stars The Walking Dead's Jeffrey DeMunn, is based on John Buntin's book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City.

The show revolves around the battle between the Los Angeles Police Department and crime boss Mickey Cohen, during a time of pervasive police corruption. Bernthal plays a police officer working under Neal McDonough of Justified fame and Heroes's Milo Ventimiglia also stars. Spaced and Star Trek star Simon Pegg is rumored to appear in the pilot. Before anyone asks: LA Noir is no relation to the video game L.A. Noire, a question which comes up in the comments thread on every story about the show.
