Academy Award nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes has been hiding in plain sight for months now.

The Whale Rider and Star Wars Episode III actress appeared on tonight's episode of AMC's The Walking Dead as an amputee who eventually dies, turns and -- with a little help from Beth -- kills an abusive police officer.

Her character, Joan, was seen in the Comic Con trailer for The Walking Dead Season Five, although it was such a blink-and-you-miss-it thing that only a few fans online spotted her, and no press seemed to notice. Over the last two weeks or so, the news that she appeared in the episode had circulated a bit, but it wasn't until she appeared in the opening credits of the episode that we noticed the name.

Castle-Hughes is an Australian-born actress whose role in 2002's Whale Rider earned her worldwide acclaim and an Oscar nomination. She appeared in Episode III as the Queen Apailana of Naboo and will appear in the upcoming fifth season of HBO's Game of Thrones as Obara Sand.
