As if losing a child isn't enough, questions have been swirling about whether or not the parents of 2-year-old Lane Graves, who was drug into a lagoon and drowned, will face charges of neglect.

A sheriff has said this morning that charges in the case are very unlikely, stating, "There's nothing in this case to indicate that there was anything extraordinary" regarding neglect.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings told AP that there were no indications of any crime committed by the parents that could have contributed to the boy being captured by the alligator.

Demings also said they are investigating the lack of warning about alligators around the lagoon where the boy died, saying they pulled out 5 alligators while searching for the boy this week.

It appeared as though the gator drowned the boy and left the body near where he was last seen.

"Of course, the family was distraught, but also I believe somewhat relieved that his body was found intact," Demings told a news conference.

Demings isn't the first to absolve the parents of guilt, as wildlife specialist Jeff Corwin recently discussed how there was nothing else the father could have done.
