Karl Urban is an actor, not a movie producer, and as such he still doesn't know if that fourth Star Trek reboot movie is ever going to be made.

Speaking to Screen Crush, Urban once again stated that his Trek future is unclear, but that he'd be satisfied with Star Trek Beyond being his and his co-stars' final adventure on the Enterprise.

"You know as much as I do, my friend," Urban said. "Listen, we'd all love to make another Star Trek movie. That's absolutely certain. But if we don't get that opportunity then I'm really happy to have ended on such a good note. We had such a wonderful time shooting Star Trek Beyond. It was an amazing experience — and we're all still grieving over the fact that it was the last time that we got to shoot with Anton [Yelchin]. We're all like a family. It won't be the same without him."

The memory of Yelchin, the young actor who played Chekov who was killed tragically by his own vehicle, is still fresh in the mind of many of his co-stars. Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura, spoke last week at a life celebration ceremony attended by many of Yelchin's other co-stars, friends, family, and colleagues. The ceremony included the unveiling of a statue in Yelchin's image.

For his part, Urban has stated previously that, should the opportunity for a fourth Star Trek movie come around, he'd love to explore the family of his character, Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy.

Star Trek 4 was previously announced by Paramount Pictures, with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as George Kirk, the father of Captain James Kirk (Chris Pine), from the 2009 Star Trek movie. Since George Kirk died in that movie, Hemsworth's return seemed to suggest a plot involving time travel or cloning or resurrection by some other means.

However, Paramount went silent on the project following the disappointing box office performance of Star Trek Beyond, leaving the Star Trek franchise's cinematic future uncertain.
