IDW recently unveiled their Star Trek comic solicitations for March of 2018 (via TrekMovie). Among the list is Star Trek: Boldly Go #18, which is being billed as a “series finale.” The issue will also wrap up the “I.D.I.C.” miniseries, which explored various corners of the Star Trek multiverse.

You can read the synopsis for the Boldly Go finale below.

“I.D.I.C.” Part 6 of 6! It’s the series finale of Star Trek: Boldly Go, and the climactic final chapter of the epic “I.D.I.C.” saga! James Tiberius Kirk faces the greatest challenge of his lifeโ€ฆ and the fate of infinite realities hangs in the balance!”

Boldly Go first launched back in October of 2016, bringing to life other events of the “Kelvin” timeline of the Star Trek reboot films. The series was set after the vast majority of 2016’s Star Trek: Beyond, and followed the Enterprise crew in a series of new situations. Kirk, McCoy, Sulu, and Chekov transferred over to the USS Endeavor, while Spock and Uhura settled on New Vulcan. Meanwhile, Scotty became an instructor at Starfleet Academy, with Jaylah as a student.

In the process, the series saw the ensemble facing off against a Borg, dropped a pretty interesting bombshell about Spock, and took fans on plenty of new adventures along the way.

For those who are worried about what this means for the future of Kelvin-set Star Trek comics, don’t fret. Mike Johnson, who wrote Boldly Go, recently took to Twitter to confirm the series end, but hinted that something else could be on the way in the future.

In addition to the Boldly Go finale, IDW‘s March solicitations will include Star Trek: Discovery Annual, which will follow fan-favorite Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) in the events leading up to the series.
