Fans Are Melting Over That ‘Walking Dead’ Helicopter

Sunday’s new episode of The Walking Dead has fans losing their minds, assuming Rick Grimes isn’t losing his.

In Sunday’s The Big Scary U episode of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes set a course to meet with Jadis and the Scavengers. Along the way, the leader of Alexandria heard a familiar sound and looked to the sky.

Looking up through the trees, Rick saw a helicopter flying over him.

Since he was out on his own, there is no confirmation Rick actually saw a helicopter and wasn’t losing his mind, as Father Gabriel actor Seth Gilliam noted to ComicBook.com. Still, real or fake, fans of the AMC series are losing their minds over the sudden appearance of a helicopter and the possibilities it presents to the story.

Naturally, fans watching Sunday’s episode took to Twitter to summarize their reactions to the helicopter’s appearance in gif form.

Kaitlin Sconce tried to capture the look on Rick’s face with a Britney Spears image.

Fan account “TWD Support Group” was at full attention when the helicopter passed by, using a popular doggo gif to summarize their thoughts.

The rest of Twitter appears to be simply shocked and somewhat confused by the chopper overhead. Christian can’t seem to believe it.

The Crossover

The most popular conclusion about the helicopter and who is in it seems to tie to the Fear the Walking Dead crossover which the producers promised at New York Comic Con. One character from either Fear the Walking Dead or The Walking Dead will appear on the other series. 

Could this helicopter be carrying a Fear character into Walking Dead territory? The Internet seems to think it’s not only possible but likely.
