If you've read The Walking Dead comics, then you probably started giggling with excitement at the end of last week's episode. Some may have thought Daryl was watching Rosita, but many are hoping that it's Dwight standing there in the dark.
In those comics, Dwight becomes one of the big reasons why Negan gets defeated by Rick and the others. However, Dwight changed his allegiance much earlier in the comics.
When Rick first went to meet King Ezekiel, it was just after Negan had killed Glenn. The plan was always to fight back, no matter the cost.
Rick was introduced to Ezekiel, in the hopes that the two could work together to defeat their common enemy. Upon their first meeting, The King unveiled the biggest part of his master plan: He has Dwight working as a mole.
Rick may try to kill Dwight upon this reveal, but he decided to trust in Ezekiel. The King says Dwight wants to kill Negan, and he's their only hope.
Dwight proves himself over the course of time, and becomes a big part of Rick's army. Time and again, the guy would come through and set Rick up for success against Negan.
On the show, there's a similar storyline brewing. If Dwight changes sides - and he likely will - the time will turn in Rick's favor.
