22 years after he debuted in Star Wars media, Knights of the Old Republic‘s Darth Revan is set to return to the franchise in an upcoming Star Wars show. The fallen Jedi who became an instrumental Sith Lord has long been one of the most popular Star Wars characters who hasn’t fully made the leap from Legends to Canon. But finally, Star Wars fans at least have the opportunity to see him on screen. Albeit in a somewhat unexpected way.

Revan’s story is as rich as any character in Star Wars – whether in Legends or Canon – he began as a Jedi who broke away from the Order and turned to the dark side, before a redemption arc. He’s also easily one of the coolest-looking Sith characters in Star Wars history, and it’s a tragedy we’ve not seen him in live action. Now, thanks to ComicBook’s exclusive clip from the upcoming show LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past, you finally get to see Darth Revan in action once again:
The clip sees a silent Revan appear alongside an evil, red-lightsaber-wielding Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold-Taylor) in an Empire fortress. The Sith once again wears the iconic red and black robes, with the irresistibly cool Mandalorian mask, and wields one purple and one red lightsaber. The Sith pair then battle the show’s returning heroes Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo as) and his brother Dev (Tony Revolori), as well as newcomer Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein), a Brickheadz take on the Clone Wars legend.
Pieces of the Past Pays Off Plans To Bring Revan To Canon (Sort Of)

This isn’t quite a full canonification of Revan – which was technically done by a mention in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary in 2019 – but it’s still an opportunity for fans to see Revan again, which is no small thing. And while LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is clearly set apart from the other Star Wars live-action shows, thanks to the usual irreverent LEGO tone, Revan still emerges with his cool factor preserved. He remains one of the only duel-wielding characters (along with the likes of Pong Krell) with different colored lightsabers, and it’s good to see that adapted into a show.
Revan was also famously intended to appear in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 3 episode “Ghosts of Mortis,” alongside Darth Bane, before George Lucas’ intervention led Dave Filoni to cut him. The Star Wars creator believed that showing Sith Lords existing beyond death was a contradiction of the established light side meaning of Force Ghosts. But that isn’t an issue faced in the new LEGO show, thankfully, so fans finally get to see him on screen again.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past will premiere on September 19, on Disney+. And all four episodes of the first season are available to watch on the same platform.
