Japanese anmation studio Toei will bring the Guardians of the Galaxy to the Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers animated series for a two-episode arc starting tomorrow, reports Crunchyroll.

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy opens in Japan on January 13 (you can see their amazing Japanese trailers here). As in the movie, the team will be squaring off against Ronan the Accuser. Unlike in the movie, they'll be doing it on Earth.

You can see the first official image above, and a trailer below for the episode that airs tomorrow.

Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers is a television anime series produced by Toei Animation and Walt Disney Japan, based on the Marvel Comics universe. The series began airing in Japan from April 2, 2014, on TX Network stations. The series is aimed at boys 6-12 and ties in with merchandising produced by Bandai.

It hasn't yet been announced who will voice the Guardians of the Galaxy; the voice cast for the Japanese-language dubbing of the feature film is included at the Crunchyroll link above, but there's no indication those actors will reprise their roles for Disk Wars.
