It has to be said...That was Fast.

The CW has ordered a full season treatment for The Flash, boosting the DC Comics series from 13 episodes to an assumed 22 for its freshman season. The CW made the decision after only airing two episodes of their latest superhero show. Those two episodes, however, painted a telling picture for The Fastest Man Alive. The Flash's pilot aired as the CW's most-watched series premiere ever, netting 6.1 million viewers in Live + 3 Day Nielsen ratings and rated the highest in the 18-40 demographic out of any CW premiere since 2009's The Vampire Diaries.

The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as The Scarlet Speedster, builds off of the DC television universe started by its sister series, Arrow, which has broken similar records throughout its three-season run.

The Flash's third episode, "Things You Can't Outrun," airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
