Anthony Daniels Claims Episode VII May Be Superior To Empire Strikes Back

Anthony Daniels, the voice of C3PO, and one of the Star Wars alums who will be returning to Star Wars: Episode VII next year, recently took to social media to express his excitement for the upcoming film, claiming it might just be superior to original prequel Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

Episode VII is set to take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford will also reprise their respective roles as Luke Skywalker, Leia and Han Solo. The cast will also feature new players including Andy Serkis, Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong’o.

Filming for Episode VII just wrapped, according to Hollywood Reporter. This news supports speculation that a teaser trailer might be arriving before the end of the year.

Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and set to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves,Empire Strikes Back is a classic and masterpiece.I doubt this new Star Wars movie will be anywhere near as good or entertaining as Empire Strikes Back. But hopefully it'll be better than all the prequel movies.Hopefully.

  1. Pretty sure you'd have found people making similar claims at various points during the prequel trilogy. Definitely going to wait and see. :P

  2. Totally hope so.  The prequels have almost "universally" *snert* been a disaster in my opinion.  The scene of the birth of Vader in the volcano was pretty cool, though.

  3. I don't understand why people are so critical of this movie. Personally, I think it does have potential to be better than Empire Strikes Back. I was never a fan of Star Trek, but I really enjoyed the film versions that Abrams made. I think he's proven himself to be a great director. Disney also did a really spectacular job with many of the Marvel films. While I respect George Lucas, I think he does more damage to his own films than good. The fact that his involvement is limited in this next trilogy is a good thing. Maybe I'm a little too hyped, but I think this sequel trilogy could surpass the original trilogy. Hopefully, I'm not disappointed.

  4.  original prequel Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back?
