Amongst the cosplayers and camped-out moviegoers at Batman V. Superman's premiere night will be a man that no one expected to see: Christopher Nolan.

Nolan, who directed the blockbuster Dark Knight trilogy and catapulted Batman's pop culture status back into the mainstream, told USA Today's entertainment blog that he is "totally psyched" to see Hollywood's next interpretation of Bruce Wayne and the Caped Crusader when Zack Snyder's Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in 2016.

"Zack's a great friend," Nolan told the news site, "And I know Ben and he's just an extraordinary guy. I'll be the first in line to see what they've done."

Though more widely known as the main architect for his Dark Knight universe, Nolan also played a helping hand in Batman's new cinematic home. He served as a main producer in Snyder's Man of Steel, the first installment in the DC Cinematic Universe that Batman V. Superman—and eventually, Justice League—will take place in.

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 26, 2016, presumably with Nolan front row and center.
