Sad news for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-Ray release: One of director James Gunn's favorite scenes, which didn't make it into the film, will not even be included as a bonus deleted scene.

The lost scene was an extended montage that would have taken place right after the prison-break, featuring Groot, Star-Lord, and Gamora. Set to the tune of ELO's "Living Thing," Star-Lord and Gamora are both changing their outfits until Star-Lord makes a suggestive look at her, Gunn told Vulture.

While Gunn explained that some lost shots prevented the montage from making it into the theatrical release, he was confident that it would be on the Blu-Ray. However, Gunn told Vulture this week that rights to the montage's music were still tied up, keeping it off of the Blu-Ray.

"I know it was a music-rights issue. I don't know what happened," he explained to the website. I thought we were gonna put another song on there instead, but it didn't happen, so hopefully we'll be able to see it at some point because it's my favorite thing that was cut."

Don't lament too much, however. Vulture indicated that there were still plenty of hilarious bonus scenes to satisfy viewers, including one where John C. Reilly's Nova Corp. character experiences a wardrobe malfunction.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits Blu-Ray & DVD on December 9th, 2014.
