The second half of Arrow's third season, which resumes in two weeks, is set to broaden its DC Universe connections -- something that had been less obvious so far this year than it was last, as Oliver and company dealt with the murder of Sara Lance.

While the disappearance and presumed death of Oliver Queen will push Laurel into the Black Canary costume, fans will also be treated to a number of DC Comics characters and concepts returning to the show that haven't been seen in a while -- including Sara herself, Deathstroke, Sin, H.I.V.E. and the Suicide Squad.

Diggle gets "emotional" in the first hour back, actor David Ramsey told TVLine, elaborating that the H.I.V.E. storyline will be revisited. H.I.V.E., a villainous organization in DC Comics, were in the show responsible for contracting the murder of Diggle's brother at the hands of Suicide Squad member Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton.

Speaking of which: "We're definitely going to bring back the Suicide Squad," EP Andrew Kreisberg said according to the same feature.

The Squad's future has been up in the air this  year. After talk this summer that The CW was interested in pursuing a possible spinoff or miniseries featuring the team, all of that seemed to fizzle when Warner Bros. announced a big-budget feature film based on the property, starring Will Smith as Deadshot. Their involvement in Arrow can't be undone, obviously, but some fans had wondered whether Warner Bros. -- who have habitually prevented their TV properties from invoking characters being used on the big screen -- might put the kibosh on any new stories featuring Task Force X.
