It seems George Lucas has finally seen the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. Following the teaser's Thanksgiving weekend release, Lucas stated that he'd only see it in theaters, and it seems he stuck to that statement.

"I saw the trailer," the Star Wars creator told Page Six. "I saw it in a theater because I don't watch movies online."

When asked what he thought of it, Lucas reportedly smiled and said, "Yeah, it was intriguing."

Lucas has played cool and distant from the Star Wars franchise since the sale to Disney went through, saying that he was "not really" interested in seeing how director J.J. Abrams handled the next chapter, though he did say he planned on seeing the film when it was released in theaters.

It seems even Lucas isn't immune to the hype. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 8.

Lucas' new animated film, Strange Magic, opens January 23.
