Ghostbusters Reboot Release Date Announced, First Promo Image Released

Earlier today, Ghostbusters reboot director Paul Feig revealed that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones were the new cast of the film. Following up on that news, the official Ghostbusters social media accounts have revealed a release date and the first promo art for the film.

The Ghostbusters reboot will be released on July 22, 2016. Of course, 2016 is shaking up to be one of the most competitive and potentially biggest years ever at the box office. There are a total of eight comic book movies based on Marvel and DC Comics characters scheduled to be released in 2016. However, in picking a July release date, it looks like Sony Pictures wisely chose one of the few months when no comic book movies are currently scheduled to be released.

The first promo image of for the film features the Ghostbusters name and logo, along with the release date and the catchphrase, "Who you gonna call?"
