2014 was a very busy year for Scarlett Johansson ("The Avengers"). She popped out a baby girl just three months ago and was the star of two female-led films, the critics darling Under The Skin and the crowd-pleaser Lucy. 2015 will be just as exciting for her as she will next be seen as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow again in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

What is it that attracted Scarlett to the role of Black Widow? "People were surprised that I wanted to play a comic book heroine," Johansson told W Magazine. "But I loved Iron Man, and I met with Marvel to see what was possible. I had done my research, and the Black Widow character resonated with me. She is dark and has faced death so many times that she has a deep perspective on the value of life." That perspective on the value of life stems from her tragicbackstory which has only been teased in previous films, but Avengers 2 will fill in those gaps. "In the sequel, you learn more about the sadness in her past," Scarlett added.

Her character is one of the few Avengers that doesn't have any superpowers, but that doesn't stop her from thinking of Black Widow as one. "I think of her that way," she said. "Black Widow is a superhero, but she's also human. She's small, but she's strong. It's hard not to admire her."

"We all try to fight the forces of evil. Like Black Widow, you have to keep trying. The challenge is always there."

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
