Marion Cotillard Set To Star In Assassin's Creed Movie

Actor Marion Cotillard is set to star alongside Michael Fassbender for the live-action Assassin's Creed movie.

Though Cotillard's role is unknown at this point, it is expected to span several films, as studio Fox hopes to expand the film into a multi-picture franchise. Assassin's Creed will adapt the successful video game series by Ubi-Soft, which follows a secret order of assassins whose legacy spans several centuries. X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender was recently tapped to play the film's lead.

Fans will remember Cotillard's performance as Talia al Ghul in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises.

Directed by Justin Kurzel, production on Assassin's Creed begins this fall. It is expected to hit theaters on December 21st, 2016.
