Now that Marvel and Sony have struck a deal in which Spider-Man will appear in the Marvel cinematic universe we know Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man no more. That means the hunt is on for a new Spider-Man. Who will it be? Don't know. Maybe fan-favorite, Donald Glover? Probably won't happen as most reports indicate that Marvel wants to go younger, bringing Spider-Man back to high school.

If they abandoned those plans and seek out someone that is an adult, Donald Glover, 31, would seem to be an interesting choice. When casting for The Amazing Spider-Man began many fans wanted Glover, who had made a name for himself as Troy Barnes on NBC's Community, to be considered. Despite a strong #Donald4Spiderman campaign, which Glover championed, he was not given an audition. Now that the superhero role is vacant once again would Glover be interested in it one more time?

"It would be cool for them to go with something different. To be real, I'd be honored to play it, but I just want to see the best choice," Glover told the Daily Beast while promoting his new film Lazarus Effect. "I'd love to see any young guy do something interesting—that goes for the director, Spider-Man, Mary Jane, etc. I just want interesting choices that make people question things. One of the reasons The Dark Knight worked is because people didn't think it was going to work. I'm excited, though. It will be nice to see what Marvel does using him—especially in The Avengers universe."

Yahoo also spoke with Glover about the opportunity. He reiterated that it would be an honor, but he really wants "the Spider-Man movie to be dope" above all else. This time Glover won't be stumping for the part. He'll leave that to his fans. "I'm leaving it to them," Glover said. "Campaigning's part of life, but for me, I've got a lot of stuff that I'm really excited about, and dropping it all… of course it'd be an honor. But it's fine, if it comes, if not."

The new Spider-Man is expected to make a cameo in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and will star in his own solo franchise in 2017.
