In a new interview with Huffington PostSuicide Squad actor Jai Courtney has opened up a bit about what lies ahead for him as Captain Boomerang.

"I'm doing this thing at the moment, Suicide Squad, and we've been doing all this martial arts as well as weights and stuff," Courtney said. "And it's like three or four hours of training in a day to get ready....But it's fun stuff. Doing jujitsu, that's awesome. Good workout."

When asked if he's training with the rest of the Squad, Courtney said, "A little bit. We're getting into that now. I think most of us have been doing some form of it since like Christmas as individuals, and now that we're all converging on Toronto, we'll be in the gym a bunch as an ensemble."

Besides confirming that Jay Hernandez is in the film -- he hadn't previously been confirmed but is rumored to be playing El Diablo, one of a number of DC villains not part of the Squad who are rumored to have cameos or small roles in the movie -- Courtney said that he'd been doing some training already with Will Smith, who will play Deadshot.

"I haven't wrestled with many but Will and I, we were on the mats the other day and he tapped me around six times with his head locks," Courtney admitted. "He's a strong dude."

David Ayer will direct the film, which stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Hernandez as (we assume) El Diablo, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Viola Davis will play Amanda Waller. Ed Harris, Jackie Earle Haley and Joe Manganiello are rumored to appear as well.

Suicide Squad is expected to start shooting this month for a release on August 5, 2016.
