Tyrese Gibson Says He's Ready To Play Green Lantern

Tyrese Gibson has recited the Green Lantern's oath. Now, he just needs Warner Bros. to hear it.

Gibson, who has aggressively campaigned for the role of Green Lantern/John Stewart for DC's upcoming Justice League and Green Lantern films, further advocated for the title while doing press for Furious 7. In an interview, Gibson said, "I've already taken the oath. It's just a matter of Warner Brothers deciding what direction they want to go in."

Further into the interview, Gibson discussed how social media has allowed actors like himself to engage with the public, and share projects that they're working—or hoping to work—on. He also mentioned that he would be willing to work in Zack Snyder's gritty interpretation of the DC Universe.

"I love the idea of taking this role, and putting the ring on as John," Gibson told IGN. "I'd love to do it. I'm ready to do it."
