Brad Bird Confirms He Is Currently Writing The Incredibles 2

With his work on Tomorrowland now complete, Brad Bird has begun writing The Incredibles 2.

"I'm just starting to write it, so we'll see what happens," Bird tells NPR.

Disney announced that The Incredibles 2 was in development back in March 2014, so it's a little surprising to hear that Bird is only beginning the script now. Perhaps he agreed to the film but needed some time to clear other things off of his plate first.

The Incredibles was Pixar's film about a superhero family who comes out of forced retirement to save the world from a madman.

Bird's latest work, Tomorrowland, opens May 22.
