Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation CinemaCon Footage

The Paramount event at CinemaCon in Caesar's Palace Las Vegas was full of surprises. Shortly after Arnold Shwarzenegger introduced 12 minutes of footage for Terminator Genisys, Tom Cruise took the stage alongside Mission: Impossible co-stars Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson.

Before Cruise talked about doing his own stunts and actually holding on to the outside of an A400 plane as is flew 5,000 feet above the ground, he introduced 2 new clips from Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. A description of those clips is below.

Clip 1

Ethan Hunt wakes up with his hands over his head, cuffed around a tall metal pole. A man and a woman walk into the grungy bunker. The woman is Ilsa. She starts lining up needles and drugs on a table. Ethan notices a rabbit's foot with a key attached to it. Ilsa turns around and removes her shoes and rolls up her sleeves.

More men abruptly enter the room. Ilsa asks what they're doing, but they don't answer. One man asks, "What does he see in you?" Hunt asks, "Who is he?" and is promptly punched in the face. Hunt knows who he is. His name is Yonic.

The man says that Hunt will die before he talks and beats him with fists to the core and face. Ilsa picks up the key, and Ethan tells her she should go. Yonic agrees. He dismisses Ilsa, but when he turns around Hunt kicks him in the chest, then curls up the pole and springs himself to the top to free himself. Ilsa and Hunt work in sync as a team to take down the men in the room.

Hunt asks, "We've never met before, right?"

Clip 2

Luther and Brandt drive around searching for someone. Elsewhere, Ethan puts his hand on a car window which scans his hand and unlocks. Benji questions whether or not Hunt can drive, saying that he was dead a minute ago. Hunt drives anyway.

Motorcycles pursue the BMW Hunt and Benji drive in as Hunt chases down Ilsa on a bike in front of him. The chase goes down an alley, and when they emerge, they cut off Brandt and Luther. Hunt and Brandt wave to each other before Hunt speeds off. Brandt accuses Luther of getting the 4x4 he is driving as he struggles to turn around.

One of the motorcycles is in front of Hunt and starts to fire at Ilsa. Hunt runs him over. The three motorcycles behind Hunt open fire. He spins the car around taking out two of them, one landing on the hood, and then uses impact with a truck to launch the enemy off his car. One person continues pursuit as Hunt flees in reverse and asks Benji if he has his seatbelt on. 

The BMW launches airborne, in reverse, over a parking lot.
