Hulu has signed a deal with AMC for the exclusive streaming rights to Fear the Walking Dead.

"FX and AMC are the most important contributors to the new golden age of television," said Hulu programming Chief Craig Erwich during its NewsFront presentation, and citing both the AMC deal and the similar FX deal that preceded it. "Our competitors have some of their libraries, but we will have all of their future."

While Hulu did not specify what other series the deal may include exclusive rights to, they did reveal that the deal does extend to other AMC Networks, including IFC, BBC America, Sundance TV, WE tv and IFC Films.

In 2011, AMC struck a similar deal with Netflix, which saw premiere cable dramas The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men all land on Netflix. The deal drew in subscribers for Netflix which, in turn, allowed viewers to catch up with the serialized drama in order to grow the live airing ratings for future episodes. Hulu is likely hoping to reap similar benefits by being the exclusive streaming home of Fear the Walking Dead.

Fear the Walking Dead is expected to premiere this summer.
