Marvel Studios subreddit moderator attended a pre-screening of Avengers 2 where Marvel President Kevin Feige and director Joss Whedon participated in Q&A session. He took some interesting notes and shared them yesterday.

In the film, a main character dies. Because Marvel has a habit of bringing characters back from the dead, like Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), some fans aren't ready to believe that there is no Tahiti-like recovery in Aaron Taylor-Johnson's future. Feige made sure to put those thoughts to rest.

Quiksilver is DEAD. 100%, he's not coming back any time soon, there are no plans. No LMD, no escaping bullets, no retcon. Kevin Feige said he is dead and wanted to make sure people understood that.

Other interesting tidbits:

  • Post Infinity War Part 2: Characters will continue, unknown if they will continue in the MCU with current actors, absolutely nothing set in stone
  • here are no active plans for the One-shots to return, unfortunately. If something good comes up, they'll do it, but for now, no.
  • There is a core group in Marvel that is in constant contact. They are constantly throwing ideas around, connecting things, creating future plot points, etc.
  • At any given moment they are thinking 10 to 20 years ahead for their films, but actively working on the next 5 years

Avengers: Age of Ultron is playing at your local theater.
