Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron generated an estimated $77.2 million at the domestic box office this weekend, according to Exhibitor Relations.

That marks a 60% drop from last weekend's $188 million opening weekend, the second-highest opening of all time behind only Marvel's The Avengers, which opened at over $200 million in 2012.

The ecstatic word-of-mouth in 2012 meant that even with a record-setting opening weekend, the film's second weekend generated more than $100 million, dropping just 50%. That movie scored a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, almost 20 points higher than Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The film has thus far generated $312 million at the U.S. box office and $875 million worldwide.
